Copyright Infringement Notice Procedure
Last updated: November 2025
1. Scope
GameStore is a curated directory of browser games. We primarily link to or embed titles hosted on external platforms. We respect the intellectual property rights of developers, publishers, artists, and other rights holders, and we aim to respond promptly to good-faith notices of alleged infringement.
2. What we control
In most cases, the games featured on GameStore are hosted by third parties (for example, personal sites, GitHub Pages, or dedicated game portals). We do not normally control or operate the remote servers that actually deliver the game files.
When we receive a valid notice, we may:
- Remove or disable links and embeds from GameStore pages.
- Update game metadata to reflect a new official URL, publisher, or license.
- Forward your complaint to the game creator or hosting provider where appropriate.
3. How to submit a notice
If you believe that material indexed or embedded on GameStore infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please email a notice to [email protected] with the subject line “Copyright notice”.
Your notice should include the following information:
- Your identity: Your full name and, if applicable, the name of the organization on whose behalf you are acting.
- Contact details: A valid email address (and optionally a postal address or phone number) where we and, if needed, the game creator can reach you.
- Work being infringed: A clear description of the copyrighted work you claim is being infringed (for example, “artwork and branding for <game title>” or a URL to your original work).
-
Allegedly infringing material on GameStore: The exact URL(s) on
gamestore.ccwhere you believe the infringing content or link appears. - Why you believe it infringes: A brief explanation of why the use is unauthorized (for example, “the game assets were used without permission” or “this is an unlicensed copy of our title”).
- Authority statement: A statement that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder.
- Good-faith statement: A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law.
Providing clear and complete information helps us investigate and respond more quickly. We may request additional details if your initial notice is incomplete or unclear.
4. What we do after receiving a notice
After we receive a notice that appears complete and made in good faith, we will typically:
- Review the identified GameStore page and the referenced external content.
- Temporarily remove or disable the link or embed on GameStore while we assess the claim, especially where the claim appears credible on its face.
- Where feasible, contact the listed developer or publisher and share the substance of your complaint so they can respond or take action on their own hosting platform.
GameStore is not in a position to resolve complex ownership disputes. Our role is limited to managing how titles appear in our directory. We may decline to restore, relist, or modify an entry if doing so could reasonably expose us or our users to legal risk.
5. Counter-notices and corrections
If your game or project has been removed or modified on GameStore following an infringement notice and you believe this was in error, please contact us at [email protected] with:
- The URL on GameStore that previously listed your game.
- A link to your official site or repository for the game.
- A brief explanation of your rights to the material (for example, “I am the original author”).
We will review your message and, where appropriate, restore or update the listing. In straightforward cases (for example, a developer moving their game to a new official domain), we can usually resolve the issue quickly.
6. Important notes
