About GameStore
Last updated: November 2025
Who we are
GameStore is a curated, static-friendly directory of browser games. Our goal is to highlight interesting web games—often hosted on independent sites, GitHub Pages, or game portals—and make them easier to discover with clear descriptions, tags, and gameplay notes.
We do not require user accounts, and we do not run a launcher or client. When you click a game, you are either loading an embed provided by the game creator or opening the original site in a new tab.
What we do
Each game page on GameStore typically includes:
- A short overview of the game, genre, and core loop.
- Basic control guides and tips for getting started.
- Links to the official host, repository, or developer page where available.
- Light editorial commentary on who the game is for and why it is interesting.
We focus on games that run directly in the browser, can be embedded safely, and are suitable for instant play. Where possible, we point to the creator’s preferred, official distribution link.
How games are selected
Games are added manually. We browse public jam submissions, open-source projects, personal portfolios, and popular web releases. There is no paid placement or automatic scraping of private content.
When we list a game, we aim to:
- Respect the developer’s branding, title, and attributions.
- Link to the original project page, repository, or publisher where possible.
- Remove or update listings when games move, change ownership, or are taken down.
Third-party content
Most games showcased on GameStore are hosted by third parties. Their performance, availability, and content are outside our direct control. If you encounter issues with a specific game—such as bugs, payment problems, or community moderation questions—please contact the game’s publisher or hosting platform directly.
For more details on how we handle links and embeds, see our Disclaimer and Terms of Use.
Copyright and removals
We respect the intellectual property of developers, publishers, artists, and other rights holders. If you believe a GameStore page links to, embeds, or misrepresents content that infringes your rights, please review our Copyright Infringement Notice Procedure for guidance on how to contact us and what information to include in your request.
